All About Weddings is a wedding photography course designed with the professional in mind. It's a comprehensive two-day development programme which will encourage you to develop your skills, push your boundaries and escape familiar traps, with a focus on shooting weddings throughout the seasons.
If you want to enhance your skills, crave new information and long to master your understanding of light, this is the wedding photography course for you. These two days will transform you and your business, making you more competitive and passionate about being the best in your field.
This course is held at Rydal Hall in the Lake District - a stunning setting for intensive and rewarding learning. The trainers will share their evenings with delegates who choose to stay, meaning the experience will be packed with information, conversation and laughter.
Day 1: Morning
At the outset of this wedding photography course, Catherine Connor will explore your business with you. You'll examine how it should develop, and the vital next steps - particularly with regard to marketing and brand value. The insight you gain in this session will change the way you approach every aspect of your work; it's an invaluable introduction to everything else the awaits on the course, and will equip you with a wealth of new ideas and inspirations.
Day 1: Afternoon
The session of the All About Weddings photography course begins with an image evaluation with Phil Barber and Catherine Connor. You'll discuss what makes a great image, from lighting and backgrounds to composition, direction and expression. Phil will reveal the disciplines of creating stunning wedding photography, as well as the rules which matter - and those which don't.
Next, you'll head out to a breathtaking location for a pre-wedding shoot. This is a crucial element in today's wedding photography world, and should play a key role in your business. Under Phil's information-packed guidance, you'll put your new ideas into practice as you photograph a gorgeous couple. The images you'll capture are model released, so they can become beautiful new additions to your portfolio.
Afterwards, you'll enjoy a review of the day's learning, drinks in the bar and relaxed evening conversation.
Day Two
Today you'll take part in a magnificently styled location wedding shoot, meticulously prepared to allow you the opportunity to shoot, shoot, shoot. You'll put everything you've learned into practice, as well as learning a vast number of new skills too.
Lighting, communication with your client, direction, composition, use of backgrounds, making the very best of every setting... it's all in here, in a vibrant and energising environment which will challenge you to capture amazing images and realise your potential.
You'll also learn about the use of artificial lighting. Flash can be a great addition to your camera equipment, and you don't have to be afraid of it - Phil will demonstrate ways in which artificial light can make all the difference to your wedding photography. The Flash Centre will assist in this aspect of the course.
After the shoot, you'll examine the images you've created and consider your own photography style. Phil will give you a useful insight into perfecting your images using Lightroom, with unobtrusive tricks and techniques that will improve the look you've been aiming for - not to mention saving you a lot of time!
This wedding photography course concludes with an open question session, allowing you to address any thoughts or questions which may have arisen throughout the two days. You'll also indulge your plans in a business review and enjoy a revitalising coffee before heading home, packaged with exciting new ideas.
