What does creativity look like?
Creativity plays such an important role in our business; we crave the ingredient. It’s the essence of individuality we search for in our imagery and the actions we take within the business. Creativity is a core value within Aspire Photography Training, and certainly a word of which I consider daily. It’s my mantra for how I am within the business; it keeps me alert for the business and those we serve.
Take the word creativity and consider it for a moment, what does it mean to you and your business? How does it effect you; emotionally, financially and when shooting, physically? Feeding your creative spirit can trigger the best for your business yet it can also be a big contributing factor to your emotional highs and lows.
If you feel now is the time for a wave of creative spirit within your photographs, consider the influence it could have on your photography style. Break down the meaning of creativity; it’s about a change of perspective, to do something different, a visual challenge, the break of a rule, routine or habit and finally the encouragement of random ideas. Reflect on the list, how is this list is impacting your photography in a positive way?
Look at each element; start with your perspective, what role does it play within your pictures? Question your opinion and challenge your opinion. Your job is to ensure you produce the best, your job is to push your boundaries, and your job is to be the perfectionist - play the role, encourage a better outcome for your photography.
Evaluation of your craft is important; I believe your best critic is often yourself closely followed by your clients. All the photographers I meet daily are passionate about photography. Give your passion the permission to drive you forward, ride off the energy and beliefs you have as a photographer. Be determined for you.
A modern photographer is very complex, authentic and intelligent. Creativity for all of us is a lifeline for all that the future could be. Remember to feed it!
Best wishes, Catherine Connor
